What you may do with this music, what you may not, and exactly which parts of it a machine made. Written to protect the farm without pretending the law gives us rights it may not give us.

The blunt version, before the legal one

Root Life does not claim that every AI-generated note, vocal, melody and recording on this site is federally copyrighted. Saying so would be easy and wrong. The U.S. Copyright Office holds that material generated entirely by AI is not copyrightable, and that a prompt on its own — however detailed — generally is not enough creative control to change that.

What actually protects this work is a layered fence rather than a single claim: our paid Suno plan rights, these enforceable use terms, copyright in the genuinely human-authored parts, trademark, and confidential treatment of our prompting system. Every section below is written to that shape.

Built from each track's own record rather than typed by hand, so the credit on the page and the credit in the archive cannot disagree. The human-authored line lists only what is true — right now that is the title, artwork, writing and curation, and no lyrics.

One gate is still open

Until a lyric sheet is entered for a song, that song's transcript panel says so rather than showing an approximation. A lyric sheet the farm did not write is not a transcript, it is a guess, and a guess in an accessibility panel is worse than an honest blank.

Licensing, permissions and complaints

No permission exists until Root Life provides a signed written agreement. A rights complaint should include the protected work, where the disputed material appears, evidence of ownership and a good-faith statement.
